The AKESO POLICLINICSurgical and Proctology Outpatient Clinic treats bothadults and children aged 15 and over, anddeals with a wide range of conditions:
- examination and treatment of rectal conditions, such as haemorrhoids (using the Longo method),
- we offer outpatient procedures, such as rubber band ligation of haemorrhoids (known as Barron’s ligation), a quick procedure requiring no hospitalisation,
- we also carry out a full range of surgical procedures for haemorrhoids and pilonidal cysts (an inflammatory condition in the coccyx area), in the form of day surgery at Beroun Hospital. Depending on the type and severity of the symptoms, we choose modern, minimally invasive methods (e.g. FiLAC, LAFiP, LHP and SiLAC laser treatments) or conventional surgery.
All care and procedures are covered by health insurance, meaning they are free of charge for patients.
“I know that the fear of visiting the physician’s surgery is often greater than the problem itself. Problems with the rectum are an embarrassing topic for many people, and they are often too ashamed to see a physician about them for a long time. Yet all it takes is an early examination, and many problems can be resolved quickly and without major intervention,” saysDr Martin Oberreiter.
Thanks to links with other clinics and diagnostic centres within the AKESO POLICLINIC network, patients have access to comprehensive care in one place. The outpatient clinic carries out examinations and makes diagnoses; where surgical treatment is required, patients undergo the procedure at Hospital Hořovice or the One-day care centre in Beroun.
The coloproctology department at Hospital Hořovice offers a full range of surgical procedures, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques, which enable patients to recover more quickly and return to their normal lives sooner.
The outpatient clinic is currently accepting new patients.
Consultations are held every Tuesday from 7.30 am to 12.00 pm and from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
