The examination is carried out using the Plusoptix device, which is a non-contact method of measuring vision, without the need to blur the eyes. Due to its appearance, the device catches the attention of the child being examined and often the child does not even notice that he or she is being examined.
The examination itself takes only one second and is suitable for children from 6 months to 6 years of age.
Plusoptix scans both eyes at the same time.

Thanks to the early eye examination in childhood, it is possible to catch eye defects that can be treated and even completely removed during the child's development.
The Plusoptix examination does not replace the examination by an ophthalmologist, but provides a reliable test of refraction, pupil size, pupil distance and corneal reflex asymmetry.
The results of the measurements are compared to threshold values relative to the child's age and the result is immediately displayed and a recommendation is made as to whether the child should be referred to an ophthalmologist.
The most critical period in visual development is the first year of a child's life. In order to detect refractive errors as early as possible, the child's vision should be measured between 6 and 12 months of age.
