Doctor, what do people modify most on their bodies?
The most common procedure is eyelid surgery and various procedures on the female breast, i.e. augmentation, modelling, reduction. Next in order are liposuctions.
Is it still true that women are more interested in plastic surgery?
Yes, women are the most frequent clients. But plastic surgery is for everyone, even children. For them, developmental defects, protruding auricles, benign skin formations and so on are dealt with. More men have been coming to us lately.
How do people know a good plastic surgery clinic?
It is necessary not only to focus on self-praise and presentation, but instead to emphasize that the procedure is performed by an experienced doctor. Because this is commercial medicine, doctors from other disciplines without the appropriate training and certification in plastic and reconstructive surgery often try to enter this field.
What should a first-class plastic surgeon meet?
In my opinion, decisiveness and a healthy self-confidence are important. Plastic surgery is very individual and the doctor must be able to take the decision and responsibility for it. Aesthetic sense and spatial imagination are important. A plastic surgeon not only deals with the actual procedure, but must build a relationship with the client or patient. If there is not some form of mutual understanding in the planning of the procedure and the expected outcome, it is better to abandon it. It is also necessary to take care of the patient in case of complications and not turn your back on them.
"The ratio between cosmetic surgery and reconstructive procedures is as high as 80:20."
Microsurgery in Hořovice
At Hořovice Hospital, microsurgery, brought to us by Patrik Richtr, MD, completes the spectrum of procedures. He considers this field to be the highest level of plastic surgery because it can reconstruct affected body parts or replace various organs or their functions. It consists in transferring tissue from one part of the body to where it is needed. In the hospital in Hořovice, this includes, for example, hand surgery, covering defects and decubitus or dealing with skin tumours.
