MUDr. Filip Hron - new addition to the gynaecological outpatient clinic

7. 10. 2024

Since June this year, patients can meet a new gynaecologist, MUDr. Filip Hron, who has expanded the existing team of outpatient gynaecologists. In his practice, he wants to offer patients not only his experience and knowledge that he has acquired at previous workplaces, but above all a friendly approach and empathy.

Doctor, tell us how long have you been practicing gynecology?

I've been a gynecologist for 18 years. I have built my practice so far mainly in a hospital setting. My last place of work was in the Na Františku Hospital, where I worked for 2 years as the founding chief, before that I gained experience in hospitals in Mělník, Brandýs nad Labem and the Jičín Regional Hospital. My experience at the Institute for Mother and Child Care in Podolí, Prague, where I was in charge of the outpatient clinic for trophoblastic disease, a disease of the placenta, for seven years, was significant for me. At that time, we were the only centre in the Czech Republic dedicated to this problem.

What led you to switch from hospitals to outpatient practice?

I gained a lot of experience and knowledge during my practice in hospitals. However, over time I began to feel that I wanted to be more involved with patients on a human level. Establishing contact and a doctor-patient relationship is very important. We then get to a whole different level of care and functioning. AKESO Healthcare Holding has the same setup in its facilities, so when I was offered to join AKESO POLICLINIC, I didn't hesitate for a moment. My goal is to offer patients, in addition to excellent medical care, a calm environment and an understanding attitude.

With what health problems do patients most often turn to you in the outpatient clinic?

In my outpatient clinic, I offer patients the usual spectrum of gynaecological care, from conventional prevention to the management of gynaecological problems that are manageable with medication. More and more often, patients seek out the so-called urogynaecological clinic, where, for example, recurrent inflammations of the urinary tract related to gynaecological problems or urinary incontinence are dealt with. Thanks to early diagnosis, we are now able to help around 80% of patients with urine leakage in outpatient care, using only medication.

What about pregnant patients?

We also provide comprehensive care for pregnant women from the beginning of pregnancy to the birth itself, including the so-called monitor shoot, ultrasound and all the complete examinations that are needed in pregnancy. We routinely care for pregnant women up to 36 to 37 weeks of pregnancy, after which they should transfer to the care of the obstetrician they have chosen for delivery. Our patients usually seek out our partner Maternity Hospital U Sluneční brány, which is part of the Hořovice Hospital. In AKESO POLICLINICE we also offer pregnant women 4D ultrasound, pregnancy massages for relaxation and in cooperation with the aforementioned Hořovice Hospital, expectant mothers can take advantage of discussions for pregnant women, individual accompaniment to the birth or even a first aid course for newborns.
