New at AKESO POLICLINIC: We are opening a stoma clinic.

On Friday 5 June 2026, we are opening a new specialist stoma clinic at the AKESO POLICLINIC. Our aim is to provide patients with a stoma with comprehensive care, expert support and practical solutions for everyday life – from the first steps after surgery right through to a smooth return to normal activities.

We know that living with a stoma raises many questions and involves a number of sensitive situations. That is why, at our advice centre, we focus on a personalised approach, a human touch and maximum accessibility of our services. The advice centre will be run by an experienced stoma nurse, Mgr. Pavla Örhalmi.

What does the new counselling centre offer patients?

Comprehensive care and check-ups for all types of stomas.
Prevention and management of complications (e.g. care for irritated skin around the stoma).
Education and practical advice on managing everyday activities, diet and hygiene.
Selection and prescription of suitable aids, with the option of home delivery.
Wide availability – in addition to face-to-face check-ups, we also offer telephone or online consultations, even outside normal working hours (including at weekends).

Support from a strong team

The Ostomy Counselling Centre works closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and specialists (surgery, urology, nutritional therapy, psychology), including the leading accredited Coloproctology Centre at Hospital Hořovice. We also actively collaborate with the patient organisation ILCO.
