Nutritional counselling is the right step in weight loss and diet change

A nutritional therapist is the most competent specialist for anyone who wants to reduce their weight. However, he or she is also a valuable partner in situations where dietary adjustments are needed due to a change in lifestyle or in connection with a specific disease.

Nutritional therapist can listen and advise

Diet and nutrition rightly deserve a lot of attention. A proper diet is a key part of a healthy lifestyle and you can't do without it for weight loss or various food allergies. Nutritional therapists therefore care about everyone who cares about what, when and how they eat. "In the nutritional counselling room we help people to orient themselves in the topic of nutrition and prepare nutritional plans for them," says Denisa Pexová, a nutritional therapist working at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the Diagnostic Centre in Prague. In nutrition, an individual approach is important, so nutritional plans always take into account the client's condition and needs. "We design them to be sustainable in the long term and to guide patients on the path to a healthy lifestyle," adds the nutrition therapist.

What all does the nutrition clinic offer?

The Nutrition Clinic, which operates at the Diagnostic Centre in Prague, offers a variety of programmes. The nutritional package is the most comprehensive programme and includes an initial consultation, a nutritional plan and a follow-up. During the first visit, the nutritional therapist is interested in the client's current diet and any health problems. Using special measurements, he or she will assess the amount of muscle and fat in the body. In two weeks, the client will learn what dietary changes are suitable for him/her and will receive an individual nutrition plan during the consultation. "After two months, we meet with clients again to evaluate the changes in their diet together," says nutrition therapist Denisa Pexová. "We also offer other nutritional programs where clients can come in for a one-time consultation and ask about anything they are interested in regarding nutrition. Scheduling any program is easy and is done online at www.altoa.cz, or by phone through the client center."

Drop bad habits and lose weight in a healthy way

A balanced and varied diet, which nutritional therapists emphasize, is essential for proper functioning of the entire body and for good mental health. Poor eating habits aggravate heart and metabolic diseases and, together with obesity, increase the risk of many civilisational diseases. But it's never too late to start thinking more about food and putting yourself in the hands of a nutritionist. "The unprofessional advice often given about detoxes and radical diets has nothing to do with healthy eating. That ' s why we, nutritional therapists, are here to explain what is important in nutrition and how to go about losing weight," concludes Denisa Pexová.
