How to detect diabetes early and why prevention is key? MUDr. Věra Prýmková from AKESO POLIKLINIKY appeared in the program Visit on TN Live, where she pointed out the warning signs of this disease and the risks associated with its underestimation.

MUDr. Věra Prýmková, a doctor of the diabetology outpatient clinic of AKESO POLIKLINIKY , was a guest of the programme Visit on TN Live. In the interview, the doctor pointed out the insidiousness of diabetes, its symptoms and the consequences of neglected treatment.

The doctor explained that one of the key factors in the prevention of diabetes is a healthy lifestyle and regular preventive check-ups with a doctor. Symptoms of diabetes include increased thirst, frequent urination, visual disturbances and fatigue.

In the interview, she also stressed that untreated or poorly compensated diabetes can lead to serious complications - such as damage to nerves, eyesight, kidneys or blood vessels. Nerve damage can lead to loss of sensation in the legs. "The patient will find blood on a sock without feeling that he has injured himself, or his feet tingle in the evening at rest and at night," said MUDr. Prýmková. Catching the disease early, however, greatly increases the chances of successful treatment and avoiding complications. She also mentioned the possibilities of eye examination directly in diabetic outpatient clinics. At the end of the interview she explained the functioning of insulin pumps connected to the sensor.

MUDr. Věra Prýmková provides expert care in the diabetology outpatient clinic of AKESO POLIKLINIKY and in the Hořovice Hospital, where she is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. Patients can make an appointment there for specialized examinations and regular check-ups.
