In the cardiology outpatient clinic of AKESO POLICLINIC we offer the following services to patients.

Diagnosis of heart diseases:

We perform comprehensive examinations and tests to identify possible heart disease in its early stages. Modern diagnostic methods allow us to accurately and comprehensively assess your heart health.

We deal with all common circulatory problems such as high blood pressure (hypertension ), coronary artery disease - angina and conditions after myocardial infarction, rhythm disorders, heart valve defects, cardiomyopathies, etc. We also perform examinations within the framework of preventive medicine, including examinations of active athletes.

  • ECG - electrocardiogram

It is a basic examination method in cardiology. The principle is to record the electrical activity of the heart and evaluate it on the basis of an electrocardiogram (time recording of ECG curves), which also highlights any abnormalities. The ECG is most often used to diagnose chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, ischemia and heart palpitations.

  • ECHO - echocardiography

Is an ultrasound examination of the heart. It is a non-invasive imaging method that uses a probe to show individual heart compartments, heart valves, size of atria and ventricles, and heart motility. From the image on the monitor, the physician can indicate, for example, valvular regurgitation, congenital defects, consequences after a heart attack.

  • HOLTER - 24-hour and 48-hour ECG monitoring

Outpatient 24-hour ECG monitoring according to Holter is one of the basic examination procedures in the investigation of heart rhythm disorders. The patient is usually fitted with 6 sensing electrodes, which are used to record the ECG waveform for 24 hours in a special recording device. The content of the recording device is then subjected to computer analysis, which allows not only the evolution of the heart rate to be assessed throughout the monitoring period, but also the ECG curve to be monitored when the patient is in difficulty and to look for any short-lived and otherwise difficult to document heart rhythm disturbances.

  • Bicycle Ergometry

During the examination, the electrical activity of the heart is recorded (i.e., the so-called ECG ) and changes caused by the exertion load on the heart are monitored. When the blood vessels that supply the heart with blood are narrowed or blocked, the blood supply to the heart muscle is impaired during exercise and changes in the ECG occur. Usually there is also chest pain or pressure - angina pectoris. Exercise testing can also assess physical performance or monitor the occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias (heart rhythm disturbances) triggered by exercise.
