At AKESO POLICLINIC, we provide comprehensive dental care all under one roof. We offer preventive checkups, dental hygiene, periodontology, implantology, and oral surgery. With us, you don’t have to travel far—our various specialties are interconnected, which makes it easier to coordinate your treatment.

Collaboration Among Specialists

Healthy teeth are the foundation of overall health, and proper dental care requires the involvement of several specialties. Care begins with an initial examination by a general physician, which is supplemented by an X-ray. This X-ray is then used by other specialists, so it does not need to be repeated at every visit.

The clinic’s facilities include its own dental laboratory and an outpatient clinic equipped with 3D X-ray machines and CT scanners. Specialists share information about the course of treatment with one another—for example, between a dentist and a dental hygienist—in cases where a patient requires a specialized approach to treatment, such as with periodontitis.

Teeth Affect the Entire Body

  • People with periodontitis have a 30–50% higher risk of myocardial infarction and up to a threefold higher risk of stroke.
  • Regular tartar removal (at least once a year) reduces the risk of a heart attack by 25% and the risk of a stroke by 13%.

“Tooth decay can cause inflammation in the maxillary sinuses. A bacterial focus poses a risk following orthopedic or cardiac surgery and can cause heart valve inflammation or blood clots,” says MDDr. Martin Hlavatý, a dentist at AKESO POLICLINIC.

Prevention First and Foremost

The foundation of prevention is thorough oral hygiene, ideally using an interdental brush every day. It is also recommended to limit sugar intake and avoid tobacco products. Regular tartar removal, at least once a year, is also important.
